WHAT DAY IS IT?

Unlike the mailman, it appears that I can be stopped by the weather. It was a brutal week for Texas. Some legitimate challenges for my family along the way, but we are lucky to be in better shape than many folks.

Needless to say, I didn’t quite have the energy or focus to read much of anything this week. A lone sports highlight was getting to watch Osaka vs. Williams the night our power was restored. The rhythm of tennis offered some catharsis after a few days of chaos; Osaka’s efficient takedown of her hero was also something to behold.

Fellow Texans: hang in there. Everyone else: hope you’re well and thank you to the many of you who have sent notes of support these past few days.
